HAWKCLAN
Welcome to Hawkclan! This Clan resides on an island and their camp is in the crevices and caves inside a large train tunnel at the center of the island. They are notable for their agility and strength, and their keen eyes, like that of a hawk's! In this guide you will be able to find any information on this Clan as well as ask questions. This guide was last updated on October 5th, 2014 To keep this guide simple the different sections are all in one post and are put in big bold lettering.
—TERRITORY.
HawkClan resides on a small peninsula at the far south of the mainland, boardering them are SkyClan, and the city/loner lands. Mountains border some of their westlands, the forests along their east, including the forest-front beach.
Along the forest of the clan there are large and tall trees of various kinds, mainly okays and cedars. Due to this woodland, the majority of prey seems to be rodents and birds; there are smaller streams in the area for fish, but crab and fishing mostly takes place along the beach. There seems to never really be a shortage of this, since it's southern it is warm almost all year.
Despite such large territory, the camp is much deeper - past the beach and is lakeside; dogwoods and willows surround the lake itself, which is just cold enough for a bit of snow and to freeze over the surface of the lake very late in winter, an only for a few weeks.
Since you enter the camp from the north, you must pass the gates of the city.

The camp is a moderately large village in the valley of the hills, mountains, and forest that seem to be perfect places to fun to in case of an emergency. The village itself is full of houses, abandoned by two-legs, and each family can claim a house. A couple, their children, and their parents may stay in one should there be enough room.
First entering the camp past the walls is a guards post where there is usually at least one or two HawkClanners at all time to guard the area -characters who are held here because they need to be under supervision for doing some sort of crime -their families can visit, but it is preferable that they are not moved to stay in these floors during the duration of the relative's stay; and a large yard where young trainees can play and practice. To the left of it as you enter are two areas that you can access - the burial grounds where stones and flowers are placed if bodies can not be retrieved, bodies are burned if too messed up to bury properly, and bodies are buried. The second is the shamans area area where a large hut sits with rooms for patients, the shamans, and a backyard of a garden where their herbs can be grown. Long term medical patients can take up residency here until they are healed.
Going forward from the yard is the town center, a larger home where guests from allies and friends out of clan may rest for the night. Here, visitors and travelers from other clans can stay and rest in the rooms. There is a water well, the library, a fountain, a place where the clans trained birds rest, the bell tower that rings during emergencies, the nursery, a place where the clan cats pets may rest without worry (or attack from birds should they be anything but), and elders home lie.
To the right of this is a building for worship. A large training hall should training be unable to achieve outside (and trainees may practice here) and competitions can take place, as well as many other events the clan holds to it's allies. The castle where the high powers and their families rest is also in this area. The castle itself is five stories high, and has a dungeon. The ballroom is located on the first floor, and is used in events like dances and weddings; but the rest of the first floor is open to the rest of the clan for other uses like history classes, clan meetings in rough weather, and just general teachings. The last floors, the highest up, are for high positions, and semi-high positions, only. Direct relations family can stay with them if they wish- such as a characters children and mate.
The last stop is the basement, that must have been used as a dungeon when owned by twolegs. The place is overall not very hygienic and clean, there is an occasional skeleton laying around and some rusted chains and cells. It is usually cool down in the basement, all year long, unless it is the summer since that is the hottest season. The basement is usually used to hold captured characters and prisoners.
There is an area inside the walls that cannot be reached unless you leave the safety of camp, and travel along the walls of the outer village and find the crevices that will get you to a beautiful untouched meadow where a large grand willow tree rests alongside a beautiful pool of water. This is where the leaders and shamans share dreams with their ancestors in times of need.

—TRADITIONS AND RELIGION
While the former religion of belief in spirits and hawks has leaked out of this Clan's lifehood, it is open to be pursued. There is no set religion within Hawkclan. However, some may view the hawk as a 'holy' creature. Some knights are known to decorate themselves in feathers, tribal paint using berries from the island, or other Tribal-like decorations. They take on a more modern lifestyle with influences of both tribe and modern customs. Marriage is an open and commonly taken part of the Clan's practices and is usually following an engagement between two individuals after an asking of the wife's hand to the father or other guardian. Feasts and parties can be held by anyone and celebrate death, life, marriage, or anything else.
—HISTORY
"Now, I'll be honest. What got my attention to hold this was that I heard nobody knew of any proud female leaders. So... A long time ago this clan was started by Hawkstar, a very proud femme. She led this clan for years, dedicating her entire life to make sure it would prove to thrive...Ah, but no matter their intentions, sometimes leaders make poor last decisions...
"Her two deputies were Whitetail, and Genesis. Genesis had come from, and brought with him a group of friends that were of a foreign land, with different languages and different religions... and the clan demanded his immediate demotion... Hawkstar had to give in, it was the only way to make sure her clan was at ease.
"So Genesis disappeared after his demotion, his friends following him. A powerful she-cat named Willowpelt took his place as deputy to Hawkstar, with Whitetail. The three were perfect; strong and powerful.
"HawkClans biggest enemy starting out was BirchClan. Hawkstars daughter, I believe her name was Mistyfoot if the stories were correct.... She went to BirchClan, told them lies, told them HawkClan took clan members and celebrated their slaughter. So they attacked, raided our camp, took loved ones... But in the end, Hawkstar led her clan to destroy them. HawkClan is the reason they no longer exist... But she was tired... And retired to Hawkcatcher, and died shortly after. Her two deputies didn't fight for the leadership, and instead stepped up together, Whitetail becoming Whitestar, and Willowpelt becoming Willowstar.
"Wintercloud and Peregrineskies became their deputies. However... the peace that seemed to settle over the clan didn't last long. The medicine cat at the time.. his name was Thornvision. He and Whitestar overthrew and took over the clan. Willowstar was held hostage, and the entire clan was under siege.
"That wasn't the worst of it either. Whitestar didn't trust Thornvision.... So she killed him, cut off his head and piked it to force more fear into the clan, and it's enemies... She ruled for a long time after that. Willowstar was kept captive, and became Willowpelt, her deputy Wintercloud demoted... From what I remember, Whitestar's brother, Thunder... Thunder... He was Willow's mate... and she forced him to kill her.
"And then HawkClan fought back. Her deputy gave her hell throughout her reign - it was a surprise she never killed him before she could be fought against. Peregrineskies stepped up as leader of the rebels. He, Wildstreak, and Louvreart stood behind him. They fought, and overthrew Whitestar, took all her lives but one, forced her to become Whitetail again and she ran away. Peregrinestar stepped up, with Wildstreak as his deputy."
"He didn't want to be leader though. Peregrinestar stepped down shortly after, Wildstreak became Wildstar, and Louvreart became deputy. BloodClan was the only enemy, and HawkClan obliterated BirchClan and ArtemisClan.... For months HawkClan couldn't go three days without a raid.
"Then BloodClan took over HawkClan, their leader controled the minds of warriors and messed up memories. HawkClan managed though, and drove them out and freed themselves once more.
"Then Capricornhorns got an omen from StarClan.... He demoted Wildstar and became Capricornstar and made Gloryvengeance his deputy. After that? Somehow Coppereyes got involved and became a leader, but after a few things happened, leaders were in and out of HawkClan until Capricornstar's son Noirstar became leader.
"He was good, kind, and he drove HawkClan from being known as weak, however... The stars demoted Noirstar, and his deputy Tumultdusk became leader. Shortly after becoming leader though, he was possessed by an evil spirit called Pollux, and turned HawkClan to Anti-Clan. He ruled with an iron fist, and made allies with HawkClan's usual enemies.
"He didn't last too long; Tumultdusk was old, he'd seen the start of HawkClan, and when the spirit was expelled from his body, he retired. Tumultdusk promoted Oldglory in his place. Oldglory was one of the newest members in the clan, and while he was active and kind and first, he pushed the clan to a limit. He changed his name to Glorystar, kept the clan anti for the most part, and ran it like a military. He showed his favoritism to certain members, and backhanded others left and right. When he made Genevieve his co-leader, he kept her from doing any of her leading duties, and belittled her and almost all of the HawkClanners that didn't believe he was doing what was best for the clan.
"The stars stepped in once more, demoting Oldglory, and made Genevieve, newly known as Crackedstar, the sole leader and the clan voted Harrierbeat as her deputy... Well, Oldglory went into a rampage. He killed his dog body in front of his pups by drinking it to death and bleeding from the mouth with broken glass that he ate. He then went to BloodClan and told HawkClan's allies they would turn on the, causing a war. Luckily, Crackedstar managed to settle things with the BloodClan leader, and brought a gentle peace over HawkClan - Oldglory disappeared.
"Crackedstar kept her clan peaceful, she made her allies carefully and chose the best decisions for HawkClan. However, she had cancer. After losing two of her lives, Crackedstar was taken by the cancer permanently, leaving Harrierbeat in charge of the clan."
-A History, as told by survivors Harrierbeat, Louvreart, and Peregrineskies.

HOW TO GET PROMOTED
Well, you can get promoted for doing a number of combined things.
1.) Do not create IC and/or OOC drama. If you have recent rulebreaks, or your character has a history of drama, you will not be promoted.
2.) Be active! You don't have to flood the board or anything, heck; you don't even have to post in every single thread! Just show up!
3.) Be nice! This applies both IC and OOC-ly, and ties in somewhat with number one. If you are rude to other roleplayers, you will not be re-promoted. If your character doesn't get along with the leader (or other HP's), or tends to be unnecessarily rude to other characters, they probably won't be promoted very quickly.
ONCE YOU HAVE BEEN PROMOTED
Now that you've been promoted, there's a few expectations!

Now that you've been promoted, there's a few expectations!
1.) High positions are to be courteous at all times. Rudeness will NOT be tolerated and will result in immediate demotion. Consider this your warning! Depending on the severity of the rudeness, it can range from probation to full blown demotion. You can always try and earn your position back, of course.
2.) Consistent activity! Of course, you don't have to be uber-overly active, and you don't have to make 10 paragraph posts. Just do you! If you make a few posts a day, but you take your time and make long, decent paragraphs- that's fine! If you make a bunch of posts a day but post 2-4 sentences, that is perfectly acceptable as well! After a week (7 days) of not posting w/o an activity notice, your character will be put probation. 3 days after that, if you still haven't posted, they will be demoted! You can earn your position back.
3.) If you are banned, your character will automatically be demoted. You may be able to earn the position back.
4.) Death - after your character dies, even if you intend to reincarnate them, expect a demotion.
5.) Contribute! Once you're active, and friendly, you have to contribute to the clan! Helping new members, coming up with clever ideas or helping in huge events will definitely get you to keep your positions!
