APPEARANCES:
Long, tall, and ugly. Gunslinger is a large lithe tom with coarse ruddy brown fur. It's not the cat himself that looks ugly, just the color of his pelt; it's not something a hunter would want tacked to his wall. His only memorable feature is his eyes, a piercing bullshooter blue. They don't miss much, nor do they make for lovely gazes; his eyes are for staring down challengers and always assessing his surroundings. His right forepaw is missing the last two toes, and there's a large nick in his left ear as well as a sabretooth scar on his right shoulder.
PERSONALITY:
"Don't ask him silly questions, he won't play silly games." Gunslinger has no time for fun and games. He is determined from the start to rise through the ranks of his Clan and become the best warrior Riverclan has ever had. He has a very dry sense of humor, if any at all. However he is social and enjoys talking with others. He has an average intelligence, but lightning-fast reflexes from training with snakes. He is not extremely muscular, but can dish out some serious wounds in battle. He enjoys training of any type and showing off his talents. Gunslinger isn't a bad cat, though he may look like it from the outside; he's just a little rough around the edges with a soft heart. He takes initiative in situations, often taking the role of leader in groups. He is a strong Starclan believer and lives for his Clan.

HISTORY
Gunslinger was born to NPC parents in Riverclan, two normal warriors who carried out normal lives. He however, wasn't a normal kitten. Gunkit hardly ever played with the other kittens in the nursery except to play fight. Even at a young age he wanted to be a warrior right away and didn't like being confined to the nursery with the other silly babies. He spent his time building his muscles and fighting skills for the day he'd be apprenticed.
When Gunpaw finally received his first mentor, Howlingcry, he was determined to show that he wasn't an ordinary new apprentice. Howlingcry was strict and hard on him, just like he'd wanted in a mentor; Gunpaw was afraid he'd get some silly, flouncy she-cat who wouldn't teach him anything. Howlingcry's mentoring skills were excellent in his opinion, even if the warrior disappeared after a time and left Gunpaw to train himself alone. He honed his reflexes by taunting snakes, eventually building them to a lighting-fast speed. He often sparred with the other apprentices, though sometimes took it too far and sent them to the medicine den with cuts and bruises.
Gunpaw was made into a lifeguard after Rangerstar announced tryouts. It wasn't long until his maturity and skill earned him the rank of Head Lifeguard along with two other warriors. The apprentice pushed himself to the limit and then some, never letting up on himself. During a terrible storm and flood, he saved nearly half the Clan from drowning. He was sometimes chosen to lead mass training events for the Clan. When he felt he was ready to become a warrior, he asked Photoflash and Lanijay. They didn't agree because he hadn't had a mentor; seeing Gunpaw's disappointment, Photoflash offered to finish his training. Gunpaw accepted with zeal, excited to be trained by a deputy. It didn't take long for Photoflash to see that Gunpaw truly was ready to be a warrior, and so deemed him Gunslinger. Life was good for the young warrior.
But things started going downhill once he earned his warrior name. Gunslinger soon discovered a dark ambition growing inside of him; it reared its ugly head when new assistant deputies were named and his name was not mentioned. Realizing that he was now a potential danger to his Clan, he brooded and became angry. Starclan then sent him a summons in a dream that he was to leave Riverclan until he was ready to return home. Dismayed and frightened, Gunslinger obeyed his ancestors and went on a soul-searching journey far away from home. He encountered many obstacles along the way and learned what Twolegs would call the seven virtues; for many months he roamed as a loner until Starclan finally deemed him ready to come home.
When Gunslinger returned to Riverclan a changed man, his outlook on life was completely different. He no longer had a drive to rise through the ranks, though he was still determined to serve his Clan. He still retained his short temper and no-nonsense attitude, but those were two things that would never change about his personality. Gunslinger was eventually promoted to assistant deputy, and deputy after that. He spent many moons serving in that position faithfully under Photostar and then Dawnstar, until Dawnstar mysteriously vanished. Gun remained deputy in hopes that she would return, and finally stepped up when she didn't after nearly a moon. The kitten who had dreamed of being leader was finally that two years later.
